Attractions in Galapagos Islands

Having about 19 islands that make the Galapagos, there’s hardly any reason for this place be out of your list of hot vacation spots. With the warm sun beating down the sand across the Pacific Ocean where the islands are situated, it’s perfect to relax and warm up the chilly weather.

The best time to visit Galapagos is winter, not just because the weather makes you beg for more sun but also because this is the time when the innumerable variety of animals seen in these islands come out making it a wonderful time to experience the right fauna of the Galapagos.

Charles Darwin Research Station, Puerto Ayora

If you happen to be a nature lover, this is a great place to start off your vacation in Galapagos at this research center and take a peek into the research work this center has been doing on the rich ecosystem of Galapagos and dive into the world of evolution and the intricate balance and relationships between the lives on these islands.

Fernandina Island


This island is perfect to fill your appetite for nature.  Surrounded by volcanoes, this youngest island has the richest collection of flora and fauna you can find in Galapagos. Punta Espinoza is a great place to find Marine Iguanas, sea lions, Galapagos hawks and many more!

North Seymour Island

The main attraction in North Seymour Island is the Palo Santo forest is a great place to visit the rich colonies of birds that can be found here including the blue-footed boobies, frigate bird and several sea creatures likes sea lions and more. Jervis and Plaza are some of the other great places to see sea lions and boobies.

Lava Tubes

This offers a great view of the volcanic formations making a wonderful scenery of its own. Being about 10 km away from Puerto Ayora which, after cooling has formed a tunnel like shape. But the interesting part about the tunnel is that the hot molten lava still flows inside the tunnel.

There are innumerable number of places to visit around Galapagos. It would be wise to understand the specialty of each island before choosing your vacation spot.
