Dubai is one travel destination that sees millions of tourists every year. Everyone loves to go to Dubai for a holiday, and women especially go crazy over the endless possibilities of shopping over there.

However, if you are a first timer, then it is very important for you to keep in mind some tips about this new place that you are visiting, so that you can have a safe and comfortable holiday.

First of all, the weather in Dubai is quite hot and humid, so it is best to carry light and comfortable summer clothes. But in case you are travelling between November and April, then you should also keep an umbrella handy, because rainfall is frequent during that time.

A period that you should avoid visiting Dubai in, is the Ramadan period when the Muslim people follow fasting during the day time. Sadly enough, eating and snacking at public places is not allowed.

Next, since it’s an Islamic country, it is very important to follow the religious principles and practices there and also respect them. Do not try and take pictures which can be controversial.

It is not advisable to take pictures of Muslim women, and also try and respect the religious institutions and buildings over there. For that matter, taking liquor and some other things such as some magazines is also not permitted in Dubai, and as a traveller, you need to make note of that.

For shopping, the timings are usually from 10am to 9pm, but there are chances that some shops take an afternoon break. The currency that works in Dubai is Dirhams.

You will find ample of opportunities in Dubai to shop for great fashionable clothes and other things. However, you can’t really be wearing them when you are there. It is mandatory for men to keep their chests and women to keep their shoulders covered when they are public.

If you plan to go for sunbathing, you can do so at the beaches and near your hotel swimming pools. But sunbathing openly and wearing revealing clothes is not permitted in Dubai otherwise.

The visa rules need to be checked from time to time with the embassy, and it is essential for every traveller to follow the basic rules that the country outlines.
