Le Reunion is a French island to the southwest of Mauritius and east of Madagascar. It has a population of about 800,000. Reunion is one of the 27 regions of France and is an integral part of the republic.
The main religion followed is Christianity though there are few who practice Hinduism and Buddhism. The official language of the island of Reunion is French. The other language spoken here is Reunion Creole. Reunion’s per capita GDP is the highest in Africa and the main agricultural crop is sugarcane. At present, tourism is also a huge contributor to the Reunion economy.
The Zanzibar archipelago is a semi autonomous part of Tanzania and is usually referred to as the spice island. Spices like pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves grow extensively here.
Tourism is a large contributor to the economy, apart from the spices. There are some infrastructure issues in Zanzibar that sometimes cause concern to foreign tourists.
