Parks and gardens: Jardin du Laxembourg is one of the most famous gardens of Paris. Parisians of different ages all flock in here on the holidays. Not only the French people but also the tourists of other countries come over here. This 23 hectare park has got beautiful green lawns, chestnut groves and nice fountains. People really like to pass time here. Children like to play in the grassy fields of the park.
One can pass leisurely hour just by sitting on a green bench of the park and looking at the playing kids here. At the southern part of the garden one can see fantastic apple orchard. Parc de Belleville is situated on the top of a hill. From this very green park one can have superb views of Paris.
Here one can also see exhibitions on ecology and environment. Jardin du Palais Royal is situated on the northern part of the palace. This fantastic park is surrounded by two arcades. Parc du Champ de Mars is situated at the north-east part of Eiffel Tower.
This park was earlier used as the parade ground in the 18th century. Parc des Buttes-Chaumont is a 25-hectare park is one of the most beautiful parks of Paris. People generally compare this very park with the Central Park of Manhattan. The mossy green slopes with hidden grottoes and drizzling waterfalls of the park have enhanced its beauty.
There is a big lake in the park with an island. The island is linked with the mainland with footbridges. The large park Parc de la Villette was inaugurated in the year 1993. The park is divided into two parts by Canal de l’Ourcq. The park is full of beautiful themed gardens, shaded walkways, red coloured pavilions and many other attractions.
