Bognor Regis is an ideal place for a nice and quiet seaside vacation. This seaside resort town in West Sussex is only 55 miles from London and falls on the South Coast of England.

Getting to Bognor Regis
You can either take trains or buses from London to get to Bognor Regis. The traveling time will be approximately one and a half hours. The place has a small airport, so one can even reach Bognor Regis by air.
Butlin’s Holiday Camps and Hotels
Bognor Regis is mostly famous for Butlin’s Holiday Camps. Sir Billy Butlin opened these camps in 1960 and since then they have remained the prime attractions of the place.Till 1998, these camps were called Southcoast World, but now their name has been changed to Butlin’s Bognor Resort.
An indoor leisure park built emulating the Millennium Dome structure of London in 1999 is a popular spot for family vacationers. In addition, Bognor Regis boasts of two world-class hotels, both built by the Butlin group.
“The Shoreline Hotel,” a 10 million pound investment, was built in 2005 and in 2009 came The Ocean, even a bigger hotel having 200 rooms and all the five star amenities.
Shopping and Festivals
Bognor Regis is a favorite shopping destination for tourists and hosts a number of festivals round the year. Fun Fairs and Sands of Time are the two most popular festivals. The summer festival Bognor Rox is a good one for family entertainment, too.
Then there is also Bognor Prom where entertainers perform on two open stages set up at the center of the city. As for shopping, there is the Regis Center. It is Bognor Regis’ main market and is a favorite among the tourists.
Dining at Bognor Regis
You can find all kinds of dishes at Bognor Regis’ food places, but the place is especially famous for its Asian restaurants. For example, Chinese food joint Jasmine House serves most authentic Chinese food. Then there is Tuptim Siam, the most famous Thai restaurant of West Sussex.
And if you will like to tickle your taste buds with Indian spices for a change, you can easily head to The Bombay Restaurant or Magna Tandoori, the two best Indian restaurants in the locality.
