Cariboo, Chilcotin and The Coast
Cariboo, Chilcotin and coast: These are three distinct areas with extraordinary scenic beauty. These three areas are of great attraction to the tourists of British Columbia, Canada. This vast region covers much of the British Columbia but with their distinct characteristics they simply enchant the travellers.
Cariboo: The Cariboo region is full of ranches and parks. The terrain has changed a little from the ‘Gold rush trail’ from the 1850s. There are two famous parks here: Wells Gary and the Bowron Lake. The lake is really famous for canoeing. The wild, untamed beauty of Wells Gary simply mesmerizes the travellers.
Chilcotin: Chilcotin lies to the western part of the National Highway 97 which goes from the north to south of the whole region. It is actually a wild valley which captivates the visitors of this particular Great Bear rainforest region. There are few ranches and few aboriginal villages.
Williams Lake adds charm to the beauty of the verdant valley. Do not miss the Bella Coola Valley which is a great area which is wildlife filled and a great region for the adventurous people. Cariboo and Chilcotin can be reached by road jouney by the National Highway 97.
Bella Coola Valley: Bella Coola Valley marks a great difference from the whole dry type region of the Chilcotin. The valley has got lush green forests which are filled with numerous bears. The bears are the main attraction of the region. Apart from the bears the verdant valley itself encapsulates the minds of the travellers. There are two main towns.

They are Bella Coola and Hagensborg. Before coming here you can contact the Bella Coola Tourism. This centre can ensure you to have all the adventures of the valley. The places are accessible from the season of May to September. Summer is the pick season here so it is best to ensure everything about your accommodation before going there. You can reach Bella Coola valley by British Columbia ferry which runs between Bella Coola and the Port Hardy on Vancouver Island.

During the summer season the ferry runs several times though out the week. The whole journey comprises of 13-22 hours. You can also travel by Highway 20. A trip to this very valley is really excellent.
