Mount Faber is located in the Central Business District of Singapore and it offers some spectacular sights of the island state. The place is named after noted engineer Captain Charles Edward Faber and this is one of the country’s oldest parks.

The park overlooks the city, Sentosa Island and Southern Islands. When you come to Mount Faber, you will experience the nature’s beauty in the urban quagmire of Singapore. Mount Faber is Singapore’s third highest hill and is very popular destination among tourists. There is also a cableway system that links Mount Faber and Sentosa Island.

The place is particularly known for a sumptuous dinner while you enjoy the view of Singapore. The Jewel Box, the dining area of Mount Faber, has a fine collection of restaurants. It has a retail shop, the cable car and 5 dining areas – Black Opal, Emerald Lodge, Empress Jade, Moonstone and Sapphire. Each of these restaurants offers some unique dishes that will occupy your senses for a long time. It feels really great to have sumptuous food and at the same time enjoying the sights of Singapore.

Empress Jade is known for its mouth watering Chinese cuisine. The food is really good here and it will be prudent to check out a number of dishes. Sapphire’s western-continental dishes will show you the best of both worlds. Emerald Lodge has western favorites but alfresco style. The Black Opal is lavish in arrangements and design and are famous for the Western dishes. You can finish your day with an ice cold beer at Moonstone.

After you had your meal, you can take a walk up to Faber Point. There are murals displayed in copper panels that explain the history of Singapore. So you will get to learn a lot by reading through these murals one after another. Proceed further and you will notice miniature sculpture of Singapore’s trademark symbol – the Merlion.

There is a shop here too which has many souvenirs and collectibles. The name of the shop is Faber Forest and it has an extensive range of gift items and retail merchandise. The shop is open from 8:30 in the morning to 11:00 in the night.
