Paris has been called as a fashion capital of the world since almost eternity. Infact the moment we see or hear about Paris, the one word that comes in our mind is fashion. Fashion capital can be defined as a location which is influential as far as fashion is concerned. Since ages, Paris has been termed as a hot spot fashion destination and nothing much has changed in the recent scenario as well.
During the Second World War, New York and London were the frontrunners as far as the fashion city tag was concerned. At that time, Paris was occupied by Germany. However after the completion of war, most of the designer retuned back to Paris and totally changed the fashion scenario over there. Milan and New York are still considered on the top as compared to London and Paris in terms of economically successful cities as far as fashion is concerned, as per Global Language Monitor.
However, Paris and London are still the actual fashion destination as they have a history that boasts of art/fashion centers and large fashion houses. Some of the best and famous designers in the world such as Dior, Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent have been originated from Paris.
Fashion since decades have been deeply and firmly rooted in the Paris culture and the fashion clad people walking around the Paris streets further reaffirm this fact. Although the shine of Paris as a fashion capital has faded slightly, it still does sparkle.
Infact as far as fashion weeks are concerned, Paris is still considered to be the mommy of all fashion weeks. There are several fashion shows that are conducted throughout the year. Almost every day there are photo shoots or runaway shows happening in various parts of the city. Paris boasts of an awesome and huge shopping district called as the golden triangle.
The golden triangle has large variety of exclusive fashionable clothes and accessories. Some of the shops in Paris that stick up latest and trendy fashion clothes are Colette, Isabel Marant, printemps, Rue Saint Honore etc.
Infact, so synonymous is the word fashion with Paris that Parisians don’t have to take that extra effort to try and be fashionable. They are just born with it.
