Places To Visit In London
London is a perfect place for family travel and it has many tourist attractions. It is virtually impossible to know or see all the tourist attractions in a single trip. Tourists are often confused and they rely a lot on the maps. Using a map will actually save you a lot of money as you can visit many attractions on foot instead of using the public transport unnecessarily. London has many attractions and I have a compiled a list of spots which you must visit whilst in London.
Buckingham Palace
This is, perhaps, the most famous palace in the world. This is the first thing that a foreigner should visit in London once he/she lands in the city. This is the official residence of the Queen; so visitors are only allowed during August and September. The ‘Changing of Guards’ is a super ceremony but make sure to check the scheduled days before coming here.
British Museum
The world renowned museum has valuable objects from the ancient civilization to the modern era. The top attractions are the Parthenon Sculptures and the ancient Egyptian mummies.
London Eye
The London Eye must not be missed by any visitor. The 32 capsules carry thousands of visitors every day and for a good reason too. The capsule takes a 360 degree rotation when it reaches the top which allows you to see the entire city of London. You can even book the tickets online in case you want to avoid the rush. London Eye is very popular among teenagers and if you go there without any online booking then you may have to wait long queues for tickets.
London Zoo
The zoo has 12,000 varieties of birds and animals with the star attractions – sloth bears and pygmy hippos. The children enjoy a lot here as they ride on camels and ponies. There is also a “Meet the Animals” session for the kiddies.
Sir John Soane’s Museum
If you have some time left from shopping on the London streets then do visit Sir John Soane’s Museum. You can find here some of the rarest and best antiquities from around the world. This might not excite the kids but a good one for you if you value antiques.
