The Temple of Karnak is known as the largest Temple all around the World. The temple complex contains a grouping of Temples for example the Great Temple of Amon Ra, The Ipt Temple, The Temple of Khonso, The Temple of Ptah, the Temple of the God Osiris, and the Temple of Montho.

This temple is surrounded by a 20 meter high wall enclosing it. This wall surrounds all the buildings in this complex, and is made by making the use of mud bricks. This great Karnak Temple of Amon Ra was established during the Middle Kingdom era, when it was known as Ipt-Swt, meaning the Selected Spot. The temple was also known as Pr-Imn, meaning the House of Amon.

While you would be walking towards the main entrance of the temple you will come across a ram-headed boulevard of Sphinxes. It was constructed for protecting the Temple. Around 20 rams are positioned on both sides of this boulevard, which extends from the small-sized harbor up to the first Pylon.

It was constructed during the era of King Nektanebo I (approximately 30th Dynasty). While you cross through this pylon, you will make your way directly into an Open-air court. This court has a length of 100 meters and width of 80 meters.

The sanctuary in the temple is worth-visiting. It was made using granite, and was devoted to the holy boat of Amon Ra.
