Things To do in Singapore

By on July 26, 2010

Singapore or the “Lion City” is one of the foremost tourist destinations of the world. The place is known for its culture, endless shopping, the entertainment spots, the world famous night safari and the exciting Sentosa. The place is also known as the fashion capital of the Asian continent as there is hardly any brand which is not available in the island state.
But people often are at a loss when it comes to making a list of things to do in Singapore. So I have prepared a rough draft in order to give an overview of the many exciting things that you can do here while the lion roars!

Wildlife

The Zoo is the top draw in Singapore and it is hoe to almost 3000 species. The zoo also has a tram tour which will give you an overview of all the major exhibits. The traditional cages have been replaced by thick viewing glasses and moats which is indeed a unique experience for the visitors.

This is the perfect place for the shutterbugs. The Zoo tour will not end in the evening as you have the world famous Night Safari that will leave you enthralled in the evening. You can have the evening meal here and enjoy the creatures that will only come out during night time.

Raffles

You can see the influence of Sir Stamford Raffles everywhere in the city. Landmarks like Victoria Theater, Parliament House, Raffles Hotel and Singapore River have a sense of British pomp attached to it. You can take a walking tour to enjoy the beauty of the island. You should also undertake a guided tour of the Parliament House.

Singapore Discovery Center

The I werks Theater is located at the Discovery Center and the screen size is almost the size of a five storied building. The kids will love the Motion Simulator here which will take you on a virtual tour. The Periscope Adventures are very popular with kids.

Tiger Balm Gardens

Haw Par Villa or Tiger Balm Gardens attracts visitors from around the globe. The park is filled with giant statues which tell the stories of Ancient China.

You can also take a boat ride or visit the Ten Courts of Hell which depicts the stories of the ill fated souls who did not respect the Higher powers.
