The Vimanmek Palace was established as an imperial palace. This palace is located in the city of Bangkok in Thailand. This palace is also known as the Vimanmek Teak Mansion and the Vimanmek Mansion. It is located within the Dusit Palace compound. This palace is surrounded by water on all of its sides.

The close by tourist attraction in Dusit district is Dusit Zoo. This palace is now transformed in to a museum and is positioned on Ratchawithi Road, just behind the renowned National Assembly.

This structure is known as the biggest golden teak building in the world. The structure of the palace is 3-storey, and contains numerous rooms, ante-chambers, and halls.

The construction of this building was ordered by King Rama V, in the Gulf of Siam on Srichang Island. After returning from Europe in the year 1897, King Rama V utilized his personal money for purchasing the orchards as well as the paddy fields, located between Samsen Canal and Padung Krungkasem Canal for the creation of an imperial garden, which was later named “the Dusit Garden”. The main palace was constructed in Roman letter L shape, having two wings, the first running westwards, while the other northwards.

Entrance fees:

The entrance fees of Vimanmek Palace for all adults here are 100 Baht. Here visitors are required to have proper attire. Also, cameras and mobile phones are not allowed in this palace. If you are carrying some luggage, you can make use of the lockers that are provided to the visitors, barely at a rental of 20 Baht.
