Lotte World is the first theme park is Korea and the largest indoor theme park of the world. The center is regarded as world class and is deemed to be at par with the Disneyland. Lotte World is the most visited theme park in the country attracting many foreigners too. The theme park has been designed more like a complex with a hotel, departmental stores, duty free shops and discount stores.

Transportation

Lotte World is open throughout the year and is connected by various modes of transport such as the Metro. The nearest station to Lotte World is Jamsil station. Use Exit # 4. You can also come by bus (No. 302, 303, 2225, 2311, 9202 & 9203). The Lotte World opens at 9:30 in the morning and closes at 10 pm.

Tickets

There are different types of tickets available with different pricing. For example, ‘Passport’ for adults would cost 38,000 KRW which entitles you to free use of facilities and admission charges. The Game attractions are, however, excluded. You can also have a free tour of the Folk Museum. Children under 3 are admitted free and there is a concession for senior citizens.

Attractions

The park has many rides to keep the youngsters busy throughout the day. There are rides for both young and the old. The tram rides and the roller coasters are a huge hit with everybody. There are also many shows throughout the day and a number of costumed characters roam around the park.

Folk Museum

The Lotte World Folk Museum showcases the Korean history and culture through different representations and special events. There are cultural programs for the children and the teenagers, special exhibitions and special shows too. The Historical Exhibition Hall and the Miniature Village are the viewing areas whereas the Traditional Korean Market is the area for viewer participation. You can also watch a Korean Style Wedding in the wedding plaza.

Departmental Store & Hotel

Lotto Department Store is Korea’s leading departmental store. The mall has a number of specialty stores, a large open area and a food court. There are tables arranged in the in the open area which means that you can have food while watching the ice skaters. There is also a duty free stores for the foreigners.
